HOLD ME TIGHT

Kinetic Sculpture | 3D Printing | Lace shoulder straps

September 2025

Hold Me Tight transforms a gesture of affection into a scene of unease. Bra straps, symbols of intimacy, are reconfigured as mechanical lines stretching across a public corridor. Their delicate look contrasts with an assertive presence, forcing viewers to decide whether to step over, hesitate, or confront them.

The phrase “hold me tight” evokes comfort but, here, implies pressure and restraint. The installation highlights the coexistence of care and control, showing that support can also confine. Rotating motors draw the straps together in an unyielding embrace, oscillating between tenderness and tension.

By translating private materials into a shared space, Hold Me Tight encourages reflection on the boundaries between body and environment, between intimacy and invasion, and between softness and strength. It is both a request and a command—an emotional plea caught in mechanical repetition.
